Table of Contents
Disconnecting YouTube
If you have connected your YouTube channel to Soontra, you can stop data sync and publishing access at any time:
Within Soontra
Navigate to Settings > Integrations and click Disconnect YouTube Channel.
Via Google
You can also revoke Soontra's access directly through your Google Security Settings.
Effect
Once disconnected, Soontra will no longer pull new data or publish on your behalf. Existing cached analytics will be removed from your dashboard. Soontra will use reasonable efforts to revoke YouTube authorization tokens promptly and will delete stored YouTube user data you request us to delete as soon as possible and within 7 calendar days, subject to legal obligations and YouTube API Services policies. While a channel remains connected, stored YouTube data is refreshed or deleted on an ongoing basis and at least every 30 days.
Disconnecting TikTok
If you have connected TikTok to Soontra, you can revoke access at any time:
Within Soontra
Navigate to Settings > Integrations and click Disconnect TikTok.
Via TikTok
You can also revoke Soontra's access in the TikTok app under Settings and privacy > Security and permissions > Manage app permissions.
Effect
Once disconnected, Soontra will no longer sync TikTok data or publish content on your behalf. (Soontra publishes to TikTok using TikTok's Direct Post method and does not use the upload-to-inbox flow.) Soontra will attempt to revoke authorization tokens, clear cached data, delete the stored analytics it holds for your account, and deactivate the connection record, subject to limited retention for security, audit, and legal purposes.
Disconnecting Instagram
If you have connected Instagram to Soontra, you can revoke access at any time:
Within Soontra
Navigate to Settings > Integrations and click Disconnect Instagram.
Via Instagram or Meta
You can also remove Soontra in the Instagram app under Settings > Apps and websites (or in your Meta Accounts Center under business integrations).
Effect
Once disconnected, Soontra will no longer sync Instagram data or publish content on your behalf. When you remove Soontra through Meta or Instagram controls, Meta may send Soontra a deauthorization callback, and if you request deletion through those controls, Meta may send Soontra a data deletion callback. When Soontra receives a valid signed callback, Soontra deletes or disconnects the matching Instagram connection records and removes retained Instagram analytics and published-media records associated with the matching account. For data deletion callbacks, Soontra returns a confirmation code and a status URL — https://www.soontra.com/data-deletion-status — where you can check the status of your request.
Requesting deletion of platform data
You can request deletion of the connected-platform data Soontra holds about you in any of the following ways:
In-app
disconnect the relevant integration in Settings > Integrations, which stops future access, deactivates the connection, and removes the stored analytics Soontra holds for that account.Through the platform
revoke Soontra's access through Google, TikTok, or Meta/Instagram settings as described above. For Instagram, removing Soontra through Meta triggers Meta's data deletion callback to Soontra, and Soontra returns a confirmation code and status URL.By email
contact info@soontra.com with your request, and we will delete the connected-platform data we hold about you, subject to identity verification and legal obligations.
Deleting media assets and AI data
When you upload videos, images, or audio, Soontra creates AI-indexed metadata (transcripts, scene descriptions, and search embeddings):
Manual Deletion
Right-click any file in the File Manager and select Delete.
Removal
Deleting a file removes the file record and purges its associated AI-indexed content (transcripts, descriptions, and search embeddings) from our Semantic Search engine. The underlying stored object is removed through our deletion and routine cleanup processes, subject to backups and technical limitations.
Linked Assets
If a file is linked to a project, deleting the file will also remove the link within that project.
Workspace and account deletion
Workspace Deletion
Workspace Owners can delete an entire workspace via Settings > General. This action permanently removes the projects, files, canvases, comments, and associated data for that workspace, subject to backups, billing, legal, and technical limitations.
Member Removal
If a member is removed from a workspace, they immediately lose access to all data, and any API keys or integration grants tied to that member in the workspace are revoked. Projects and files they created remain in the workspace for the team's use.
Account Closure
You can delete your Soontra account yourself from your account/profile settings in the app (look for Delete Account). For your security, this requires reauthentication. Deleting your account:
cancels any active workspace subscriptions;
revokes any API keys and connected-integration authorizations (including YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram);
deletes your user profile and the workspaces you solely own, with member and content records removed by cascade; and
erases your associated profile from our email/messaging provider.
You may also request account deletion by contacting our support team at info@soontra.com. Account deletion may be limited if you are the sole owner of a workspace that has other members — in that case you may need to transfer ownership or remove members first. Some records may persist briefly in encrypted backups or where required for billing, legal, or security purposes.
Already-published content
Content you have already published or uploaded to a connected platform (for example, a video posted to YouTube or TikTok, or a post published to Instagram) lives on that platform and is controlled by that platform's own settings. Disconnecting Soontra or deleting data within Soontra does not remove content that has already been posted to YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram. To remove already-published content, manage or delete it directly on the relevant platform.
Data retention and backups
Recovery
Once a file, project, or workspace is deleted by a user, it is removed from active systems and generally cannot be recovered. Copies may persist for a limited period in encrypted backups before they age out.
Connection Records
When an integration is disconnected, some deactivated connection records or encrypted token records may remain for a limited period where needed for security, audit, revocation, troubleshooting, legal, or platform-compliance purposes.
Billing Data
Certain transaction records are retained as required by law and are managed securely through our payment processor, Stripe.
